| Lonnie is return to all capital cities and many provincial cities during 2006. The year started off with his season at the Tamworth Country Music Festival at the North Tamworth Bowling Club and was once again a very successful. He has written 17 new songs for release in July on two albums. The first is the romantic Doo Wop CD, 'Light of Love' and the other is to celebrate his 50 Years on stage in May 1956-2006. The latter CD is country-rockabilly and features all songs written by Lonnie, it is called 'North West Mail'. |

At the beginning of June, Starlite Records released Lonnie's first single release since 'Rain' a song he write for Roy Orbison. The new song titled 'Can't you see it in my eyes', was written by John Marascalco who wrote 'Starlight Starbright' as well as classics such as Ready Teddy, Rip it Up, Good Golly Miss Molly etc. It features some of Lonnie's old Nashville friends including Wayne Jackson of the Memphis Horns and Bob Babbitt of Motown's Funk Bros. Byrd Burton of the Amazing Rhythm Aces was on guitar as was Tony Burkys of The Leemen. The beautiful ballad is in the popular Adult Contemporary - Country style and they are hopeful it will receive some serious play. There are free copies for radio and press and they can be ordered here once proof is obtained the requester is legit. It has received an excellent reception by many stations across Australia and the general critique is sensational. excellent. Recently Matt Taylor, the frontman of Australia's first and most popular legendary blues band 'Chain', penned a song as a tribute to Lonnie. The rest of the gang joined in to polish it off and record it for their next album. The song is
in Lonnie's rockabilly style and each chorus finishes with the

Lonnie asked
to be Australia's Rockabilly Ambassador
|
| The leading
songwriters association in Australia is The Australian Songwriters
Association and they have graciously asked Lonnie to be 'Australia's
Rockabilly Ambassador'.
Lonnie of course has gratefully accepted and was given the honour of awarding the major songwriting award at the ASA Annual May meeting.
